The Evangelical Lutheran Market Church/Basilica of Wiesbaden was built between 1853-1862 as the "Cathedral of Nassau" in the
Gothic Revival style and was inaugurated and consecrated on November 13, 1862. Architect: Carl Boos (1806-1883).
This is the first brick building erected in the Duchy of Nassau. It is the tallest structure (western tower is 92 m high) in Wiesbaden today.
I bumped into a kababayan (fellow Pinay!) who was waiting for her husband to come down for lunch. He just happens
to be the construction foreman for this imposing structure that was then undergoing some renovation work.
