These palm fronds have previously been blessed and used by the parishoners in
previous Palm Sundays re-enacting Jesus' exuberant welcome as He entered Jerusalem.

The resulting ashes will be blessed anew and used to mark the sign of the cross on the foreheads of the parishoners on Ash Wednesday
as sign of one's mortality reminding us of the significance of going back to the roots of our faith during the Lenten Season.
