Ash Wednesday starts off the 40-day Lenten Season. The parishoners attended mass and have their foreheads crossed with ash
that originally came from the palm fronds used from past Palm Sunday celebrations that were burnt the previous day ...

Attendance was unusually high this year: despite the extra mass schedules, it quickly became an S.R.O. affair
with parishoners spilling out onto the streets. It was like attending the Simbang Gabi masses all over again!
