La característica diferencial entre Alhambra y Real Alcázar de Sevilla, es que en ésta última los paneles decorativos (estucados preferentemente) son de colores pasteles, muy hermosos.
Conforme se iban reconquistando las ciudades, en la mayoría de los artesonados de los techos se añadieron únicamente dos nuevos elementos: El león y el castillo (reinos de Castilla y León), tanto en el Alcázar de Sevilla como en Alhambra. También se hizo en Toledo, Córdoba, Granada, ...
