A glimpse of engineering heritage...
Given my liking of classic shapes, it was only a matter of time until I would buy some company for my modern mountainbike. The racing bike arrived a few days ago in a box, a bit battered, but beautiful and nearly ready to ride! It requires a bit of polishing and new tyres and pulls, but it is a fairweather bike ('You want to put mudguards on ??? That is like putting mudflaps on a Ferrari!' - said the previous owner), so we'll wait until spring to take the beauty on a ride. Enough time to polish and wax and preen and primp it! I am such a girl. I might even try to ride it in a dress, as lycra is so unbecoming...
I could not find much on Harry Quinn since 1979, when the manufacture was still going strong. I know they are not building them any more, but apparantly there was a move to Tenby, South Wales, in the 1980's, where the man himself is still well and alive at age 91! Soooo.... cycling keeps you young and fit, yes?

Geeky bits: Shot on Fuji S5Pro using a Nikon E-Series 50mm/f1.8 with Macro Extension tubes, then Levels adjusted in Photoshop and desaturated a bit.
