Cathedral of Concrete, Cathedral of Steel

I admit: i did not take this today. Far from it!
Home late from work, cycled the shorter loop to air my brain. 12 miles, not bad for a quick one after work. As winter approaches, i thik I'll need to bite the bullet and find a gym. I hate gyms!

Anyway: This was taken in Italy a month ago while exploring in Lombardy with our friends. They're next door busy with their conceptual shot, so we left them to it - just the heartface and me in this vast hall that was once a papermill. Thought I'd stick to the mono theme today.... grey, like the weather.

RAW edit in rawtherapee, Bright/EV, b&W, channel mixer, Luminance curve, the usual works, then crop and little tweaks in PSE3.

Well, John Peel referred to his wife Sheila as 'the pig', so I guess I can live with being known as 'the heartface'...pumpkin! ;-)))

Good image, love the perspective and the fact that you use black and white. I think that is what makes it work so well.

Very cool! I love the vastness of the space! Love the light, the perspective, everything and it really works well in B&W! Very well done, my friend!;)

Like it - love old buildings, especially disused or derelict ones - am always
fascinated by the stories their walls could tell.
