Here is a highly unusual piece of workmanship and original design. Not only that, but Don built this V-4 steam engine (with OH rotary valves) with only a drillpress and hand tools. No castings other than the flywheel which started life as a caster wheel, then "hacksawed" to size and "turned" on the drillpress. It is Don's own design and the first engine he has ever built. So far he has run it only on compressed air, but it is smooth and pretty fast.
