The Buildings

Sears Tower (now Willis Tower)

Sears Tower, the tallest building in the country, was completed in 1973. The 110-story structure is topped with two radio/TV antennas. On clear days, the 103rd floor
Skydeck offers views of Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and spectacular views of Chicago. On July 2, 2009, glass bays called "The Ledge" were opened on the Skydeck.
Extending four feet from the side of the building, stepping out at 1,353 feet above ground is not for the faint of heart, but what a view! The glass is 1.5 inches
thick and will hold almost 5 tons. Also in July, the building's official name was changed to Willis Tower, reflecting it's new owner.
