This Cooper's Hawk was seen in our back yard in Fort Collins, CO. This hawk was identified by the graduated tail feather length and with tail being rounded on the end. Also, Cooper's Hawks often set on fence posts, while Sharp-shinned Hawks nearly always set on tree branches according to the 'Sibley Guide to Birds'.
