Taken from 36000 feet (roughly) over Indiana or maybe Iowa; somewhere between Denver and Detroit, between dinner and landing. I usually don't even get the camera out over the plains, but this time the combination of low haze, low sun angle, the transition between hilly and not hilly, plus the river, and no one in the window seat presented an unusual opportunity.
