And now for the rest of the story. Bobby is a 14 year old service dog. For the past two years, he was in the custody of the daughter of his last owner. He was her mother's service dog for over 7 years. While with her, he went from 89.8 pounds, to a low of 31 pounds. The daughter was convicted of abuse in a State of GA court July 10, 2010, but only given a fine of about $250. Since we have had him, he is up to around 50 pounds, but we are now having problems keeping his weight up. His heart does not seen to be in great shape. The good news is that over the past couple of months, he has been having a good time with our dogs at home, and enjoying his new job as shelter greeter. There is no telling how much longer he will be around, but it has been great to have him with us as long as it may last.

Bobby was laid to rest on Sept. 6, 2010. His heart just wasn't up to any more. He had a very happy last few months and looked forward to going to work every day where he enjoyed greeting everyone. We miss him at home as well as work.
