We arrived in Ellensburg the afternoon of 9 July and visited our friend Yvonne the next morning. Yvonne's husband Gene, now deceased, was a well known climber of
Washington peaks. Our friendship stemmed from climbing together and also in our commerce; Gene manufactured snowshoes and my company sold them! Because Yvonne had
