There's a long story about this light bulb. I noticed that it was glowing inside an old mercantile store long ago, after the state of California
had taken over Bodie and made it into a State Park. They got around to running new electric lines to replace the old abandoned ones and
hooked up a certain few houses in town, like the visitor center, the museum, and the ranger's residence. Well, back in the old days it was
common for some of the miners to cumshaw electricity from their neighbors by running a buried wire to their system, tapping in, and
thereby avoid paying an electricity bill. When the new electrical system was installed, it apparently leaked over into a part of the old system
and this light bulb came on. I know that it's been glowing for at least 30 years, and because it's only getting maybe 20 volts, it is so dim it
may take a century to finally burn out. I had to use max zoom to get this, through the dirty old front window glass. 070619_44.jpg
