The arrastre site is a State Route 15 trailhead for both CDT Segments 7 and 8. This arrastre was used by Mexican miners in the latter 1800s for milling gold ore.
A mule or donkey was hooked to the boom and it went around and around, dragging the stones over chunks of ore placed in the stone-lined pit.
