I have the older version (the f:2,6-2,8) and for wat I heard they told me that this older version is better then the new one. For what I can say, my lens has a very good performance even at f:2,8 though it is a bit better if you close a bit the f-stops, it is strong built though it wais a bit with it's metal body and focus is quite reasonable fast, not the fastest but it's fine. So if you need a price affordable 2,8 normal lens this is a serious candidate I think.
