Although this is a very expensive lens (assuming that you can find one), the 28mm f/1.4D AF is truly remarkable in low light environments (where a tripod and flash cannot be used or is not available) such as in museums, churches, or at night. Once you get one, you will be quite pleased with your results.

It's also great for daytime shots, has beautiful color rendition, is wonderfully balanced on a D200 body and has very little distortion and virtually no coma. An absolute beauty of a lens.

This legendary Nikkor is particularly well suited to low-light, hand-held shooting, or for situations where a narrow depth-of-field is desired. It's ability to isolate a subject with crisp focus while giving a pleasant bokeh to the rest of the image is one of it's most attractive capabilities.
