I saw Andre the Giant once. He was standing and smoking on the fire escape landing of the Anderson, SC, municipal recreation center talking to some othe wrestlers before a match. I was driving by. Rassling and Amway conventions were the only thing that could fill up the rec center. Andre was impressive, even at 50yards from a moving car. He stood head and shoulders above the other wrestlers who were big guys in their own rights. He was maybe half again as wide. You could tell he was cut from a completely different piece of cloth than mortals. Amazing what too much of human growth hormone can do.
