Pioneertown CA (Just outside of Palm Springs) Yucca Valley

Many movie actors from the 30's and 40's filmed here, John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, and many others.. so I am told.
It was named after the Sons of the Pioneers (Roy Rogers back up group)for many movies. Roy and the group were amongst several partners who built the lot back in the early 30's, to make movies.
