The Bulova Accutron, the world's first electronic watch, was introduced in 1960. It was the most accurate portable timepiece in it's day, with accuracy guaranteed to within 30 seconds per month, although the watch normally exceeds that spec. The time base is a tuning fork vibrating at 360 cycles`per second, which results in an audible hum, unique to the Accutron movement.
