Weifang Kite Festival 2007

On the weekend of April 21, we traveled to Qingdao and on to Weifang for the annual Kite Festival.
The images attached cannot do justice to the beauty and size of some of the kites, many well over 100 feet long. After the festival, we toured areas around Qingdao.

Dear Mr. Wright: It would be great if the doctoral student Chen could sent a copy of his thesis about the kite festival to the World Kite Museum at Long Beach Washington for our library. I participated in the 4th Annual Weifang International Kite Festival in 1987 with Kay Buesing now director of the World Kite Museum. ALL your photos bring back wonderful memories of our year in China. We visited Qingdao during the kite festival - was great but also the mountain and sea. I'm sure you have mixed emotions about returning home in a short while. It's called miserable joy! Thanks for sharing all your photos with us. Rochelle Mooth
