Concrete(1983)

During the summer holiday from college I went down to Brighton to work as a builder with my uncle. This was taken in the basement of his house as we were laying the concrete slab. I was 17.

I seem t remember telling Phil that if he didn't stop posing and start shovelling the concrete would set and we'd have to chop his feet off.

While we are on silly building photos, Phil you have my permission to post the Dorchester shot of me with a headload of cob, Gerry likewise if you can find one of me with my "longer arms" fitted! (If inspiration fails, you could bust copyright and put up the one in Joe Brown's autobiography illustrating the same principle).

I will have to take it up with my employer of the time......

It'a bit late now to warn you, but there have been industrial compensation cases about limbs being lost after suffering "concrete burns" in stuations similar to this - usually hands or fingers, of course, not feet.

Happy days (mostly!) Phil says he was so skinny because I didn't pay him enough.
