John and I spent the weekend playing with screw fit lenses on my GX-10 and his Pentax K10D. We also put a few rolls through his Pentacon 6 (eventually the results of this will be digitised and uploaded). And John shot a few frames with his shiny new D300 as well.
It still looked pretty shiny to me. And worryingly I really liked the frame rate, the Live View and the high ISO excellence. If Canon make the 5D Mk2 anything like this I might have to sell a child to fund the purchase of one.
P.S. Blue Keyboard does count as a weekend shot, as when you took and processed it I was still on the train home. The weekend , however, IS now closed!
I think there may be just a touch of irony in Phil's reference to my "shiny new" D300 as in truth it's been gathering cobwebs since February (when I bought it). For reasons not relevant here, I went off at a tangent and found myself (as if waking from a dream) the proud owner of a Pentacon Six medium format film camera, with a couple of CZ Jena lenses (approx 35mm format equivalent 28mm and 45mm); plus a (small) barrow load of what for the time being I'm calling "classic primes". I took a fair selection for the weekend, and brought most of them back with me......
...... but just for info, the two lenses featured here are a Pentax Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 and CZJ 35mm f/2.4 Flektogon. Both of which I left with him, so you can expect more from Phil (I hope). And he never even laid hands on the CZJ 20mm f/2.8!
