These phtographs were taken at the end of December 1995/early January 1997 during a trip to Syria and Lebanon. The focus is on the old city centre area, the bullet-ridden ruins of which were largely demolished in the early 1990s following the end of the war. Some of the few remaining builings are shown here. This area presumably is unrecognizable today.
