Griesbach Community sits on land that was once the Griesbach Garrison for the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry(PPCLI). When the PPCLI was moved to north of the city, the land was developed into a new neighbourhood. It is a huge development.

The statue commemorates the regiment and is located at Griesbach parade. The parade is located next to Patrica Lake which is the focal point of the development.

Griesbach Community is the winner of many awards for its design.
