Light Horse Campsite

Because of COVID 19 all the homeless shelters have had to close down. As a result, two homeless campsites have sprung up, one on the north side of the the river and one on the south side, the one in this photograph.

They are extremely unpopular with most everyone. However, this problem as always been with us, just that before COVID 19, it was out of sight.

As you see this is a tent campsite and winter is on its way. By December, -20C is a regular occurrence. Our City Council is scrambling to find a solution.

A great way to highlight the homeless issue, hope that get somewhere warm for the winter.

An interesting sight. We have similar issues with homelessness over here but we don't have the extreme cold. V.

Powerful documentary image. A solution definitely needs to be found with such extreme cold temperatures on the way. "V"

It is a very difficult problem, it needs to be solved quickly before the temperatures fall too far.

I hope that they find a place. A tent is not a place to be after a few days of staying in one during the day.

A fine illustration of one of the results of COVID-19. I hope your city council can find a solution because I don't see how people can survive those kinds of temperatures in tents. V.
