A good friend invited me to go goose hunting with him and his family. He has been goose hunting for over fifty years. I accepted on the understanding that all I would be shooting with is a camera.

I am often conflicted about hunting. I have difficulty with killing of any kind for sport. But I am a meat eater, so I feel hypocritical when I object to this practice. My friend and his family eat everything they shoot.

On this weekend we saw in excess of 100,000 Snow Geese and they shot thirteen. The weather was warm with no wind, perfect for a photographer, but I found out that good weather for a photographer can be bad weather for hunters.

I am still conflicted about sport hunting, but we will have goose for Christmas as we have had for as long as I can remember.
