Every year in November, a mixed team of professionals of NIOZ, Texel, and a group of dedicated volunteers, travel to the Banc d'Arguin in Mauritania.
They try to read as many color-ringed birds as possible, do bird counts of the area and ring new birds.
They've managed tot create a continuous data set as of 2002 until today, thus enabling (a.o.) detailed demographic studies of species as the red knot, the spoonbill and the bar-tailed godwitt.
