Nikon D50 inbox

Nikon D50 50mm f/1,8D 18-55mm f/3,5~f/5,6G 70-300mm f/4~f/5,6G 300MM F4 AF-S 17-55 F2,8 AF-S An example gallery for what i have done until now with my Nikon D50. Nikon really hit the road with this model in 2005 it had better ISO performance as the D70 plus it was affordable. From than on model changes came Quickly and now Nikon even entered the fullframe area. I have seen people buy several new models while i still play with it. Ok the D50 is obsolete now but delivers still very good picture quality even in 2011 it is like it was in 2005. My shutter count is over 32000 clicks it fell of my desk and i used it pretty much everywhere. Nikon is rigid feels good and is a pleasure to work with. Here a little summup of the pros and cons of the D50 - 6MP is not always enough but for average users it's more than enough personaly i wish for a 12 MP to have still good resolution after cropping pictures, like airshow pics. still this camera delivers better quality as the newest pocket camera. -Focus The focus is decent it has 5 field type wich will do most of times still i wish for a faster and more precise focus system from the pro series. This also helps in targetting fast moving subjects. -Speed 2,5 fps is to slow for me especially when working in Raw mode the buffer is full fast leaving ur camera workless. Doing action photography this is not so handy. - LCD This is the last beginner DSLR with a LCD on top unfortunaly it lacks a light in it wich makes night work tricky. I like having a LCD on top although it might be conservative thinking the new models like D40/60 have it on the back display that works offcourse perfectly but is more energy consuming.(The D50 has a longer lasting battery as the newer models) -View magnification 0,76 X is not so nice as the 0,96X of the new D300 -No grid I have a habit to miss the horizontal straights i grid would help me. -ISO I do not worry until 800 iso but 1600 the max can be tricky especialy red and black background tend to get pretty noisy. Also colour isnt really pretty anymore. - Body Its plastic fantastic but rigid and feels good especialy compared to the beginner models of Canon. No its not a magnesium alloy and weather proof body. Something i wish also for the future.
