For a couple of weeks I had noticed this swath of yellow off in the distance on a riverbottom farm next to the highway near my home. It was partially hidden, though, and a long way from the road, so I couldn't tell exactly what it was until the other day when I decided to clamber down the embankment and trudge across the cowpasture to it. I found myself in Lep heaven. I had only brought a wideangle lens, to shoot the field. After seeing all the butterflies, I had to walk all the way back to the car and grab a long lens.
