Eastern Whip-poor-wills are often heard but seldom seen. They have very small bills and large mouths, which are used to catch night-flying insects such as moths and beetles.

Lovely shot Lloyd. Having come originally from eastern Canada, I sure do miss this bird, the call perhaps more than actually seeing them.
