Male and female Ovenbirds look alike. They're named for the shape of their nests, which have a side entrance resembling a Dutch oven.

These are such cool birds! Very nice shot! We had one at Santa Ana that we got to watch several times along the trail. But ours was always very sneaky, sticking to the undergrowth. You captured this one out in the open with a nice background. Bravo! Must have taken some patience. Another vote-worthy image. V!
