Northern Pintail

Central Park, NYC

Anas acuta

Northern Pintails are infrequently seen in Central Park. This male stayed on The Pond at the south end of the park for several weeks during February and March 2007. By the end of its stay it had become as tame as the Mallards, eating bread and other snacks.
