RHP Humberto Sanchez made his second start for Toledo (32-32). Sanchez has had a whirlwind past week. On June 8th, he was promoted to Toledo to make a spot start for the Hens, winning his first career Triple-A game, and was promptly assigned to Erie following the game.
On June 12, Sanchez was brought back to Toledo and looks to be here for longer than his first stint. Sanchez (2-0) was nearly untouchable for the Hens, as he allowed just three hits in 7.0 innings of work, striking out seven.

Not a great game to take the wife to for her first pro baseball game. I think there were a total of 7 hits. She had a good time, but I still don't think she understands why I watch this sport on TV...
and probably never will. (sigh)
Great game if you wanted to see another Tiger prospect throwing
92 mph and giving up 2 hits in 7 innings :)
You got some nice shots last night, Kenny. One problem we will always have is getting a nice exposure when there are both shaded and sunlit parts of the field in the same frame. Notice that the later shots after the sun went down usually had more uniform exposures. I see that you used evaluative metering, and this probably contributed to some of the darker exposures of the players (the background is usually better exposed). If you use partial metering instead, you will probaby get even better results if focusing and metering on the player. Either way, don't be afraid to use a little bit of +EV to get better exposures of the players faces, etc. It doesn't really matter if the background is a little bit overexposed - it's a good trade off. Keep in mind that the histogram is used a little differently for sports than in other applications. Often it's going to show the graph off the scale to the right, when the photos are actually good. That's because it's reading the whole frame, but you are more interested in proper exposure of the main subject (the player) not necessarily the background or the whole frame. This is especially true if there are sunlit areas in the photo. It looks like you had good seats and a nice unobstructed view of the field. Nice work!
