Verde River and Pinnacle Peak

There is an access area to the Verde River at the east end of Rio Verde Rd. This is the scene of my "backyard hunt" for riverbed cobbles transported from the Colorado Plateau. While in the area, we took the short hike in the Pinnacle Peak rec area. We hiked in and around the weathered granite outcrops that are so prominent in the area.
