This is not much of a geology lesson. Labor Day Eve Tom and I hike up the Siphon Draw trail to top of the Flatiron, scene of an enormous volcanism event millions of years ago. We are expecting some extra credit in the geology class for making this arduous hike, although we need some serious help with rock identification. I may go the route of my flower photos and just make stuff up. Except I paid money to learn my Arizona geology so I'm determined to identify them by the time the course has completed.
