Ryan and I spent a couple days at the Canyon hiking the rim trail by day, then the South Kaibab (Rim to Tipoff and back) under moonlight. The Moon was near first quarter phase but was bright enough to require no flashlights. We started the hike 30min before sunset in order to ensure topping out before the 2am moonset and total darkness.
