The original plan was a bunch of us, (John, Bill, Sherri, Todd, Phil, Ben, Susan, Peter, and Bryan) were to travel to Oregon to backpack around Mount Hood.
But the closing of the Mount Hood forest, wildfires and hazardous air pollution conditions cancelled those plans.
So, I looked at the Fire & Smoke map on the web and found that Nevada had the best air in the western states.
After hearing great things, I decided to visit Great Basin National Park.
Peter, who was driving to Oregon for the backpacking trip, turned around and joined me at park.
