A great weekend trip to Tuolumne Meadows. Still a lot of snow cover on the surrounding peaks and
the rivers were rushing through the meadows. We hiked to the top of Lembert Dome for dinner after our arrival to the just opened Tuolumne Meadows lodge.
The next day, we did some snow hiking to Elizabeth Lake, right below Unicorn Peak.
The mosquitoes found us as we walked along the very soggy Lyell Canyon trail. Marmots were seen sunning and running around the meadows. Sherri was reliving the fond memories of hers, Bills and Bens JMT hike from a couple of years ago.
On our way back home, we stopped at the Tuolumne Grove for the giant Sequoias and the blossoming dogwoods. We also saw a mother bear and here two cubs down the ravine from the road.
And the adventure continued as we drove right by a blazing hot grass fire just before Oakdale.
