Since it was a weekend, the planned tour of the Kyoto Imperial Palace was
replaced with a tour of the Higashi Honganji Temple.
This temple is said to be the largest wooden structure in Japan.
We had to remove our shoes before entering the temple. This was to
protect the floor covered with tatami mats.
