Woke up at 4:00 this morning to do some backyard digital astrophotography.
This comet started to break apart in its last pass by Earth in 1995. Here is one fragment of
eight in this shot.
This month the comets fragments makes its closest pass by Earth in more than 20 years.
Therefore, it is fairly bright in the early morning sky.
It should be visible with binoculars as a fuzzy patch with a tail.
Lots of interesting pics have been produced around the world as this comet passes by.
