Young Pied Billed Grieb

Here is one of the four young Griebs swimming and grooming themselves in the
still morning waters of the Sunnyvale Baylands.

BTW, no change in the future Lady Beetles progress. Still waiting and watching for it
to finish its transformation.

Stunning patterns and tones! I love how the bird is almost secondary to the overall patterns, and yet is lovely with the light falling on its face and beak! Vote!

The patterns really look nice and the grieb blends in well. Nice photo.

I hope Bryan you could still get a shot of the fully transformed lady bug and I wish you can capture her before she learns to fly.. :o) And your photo today is lovely wit those tiger color swirl of the water.... looks very interesting! Great shot and my vote! :o)

Even though they take away attention from the bird, these water patterns are awesome...

Yes, the patterns in the water are really fascinating. Makes a wonderful backdrop for this griebling (?). Are you sure the ladybug is alive? I wonder how you can tell.

I think I like the water more than the bird in this one! Good eye!
