Mourning Dove Family

After work last night, I went out in the yard to fix a broken sprinkler head
when I ran into this young family sitting in the middle of the path.

I ran back into the house to grab the camera and took a couple
of shots.

Glad to see that they made it this far in life.

Beautiful capture. I've seen lots of mourning
doves but never their young. This is a
real treat. :)

I have not seen any, but I assume they are wandering around the neighborhood.

Well, hopefully these will have more luck. I take it you have cats in the neighborhood?

Thanks Melanie. I wasn't too surprised that they did not move, but I was concerned that they were out in the open and on the ground.
Not sure if the young ones are able to fly yet.
Especially after finding evidence of another family which did not make it:-(

They look so adorable. Were you surprised to see that they were still there when yu returned with your camera?
