Ant Survey

view map

Spent the morning at the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve hiking around specific locations looking and Identifying tiny little ants.

It is also about tracking the non-native Argentine ant as it seems to push the native ants away.

There are at least eleven different ant species at this preserve associated with Stanford University.

We found just four species from the eleven locations, which is typical for the dry summer season.

Good shot and info Bryan. Certainly a lot of species for one area.
