This is the remains of a five story concrete building which had a spinning radar on top to detect hostile aircraft during the Cold War.
Normally, this is area is closed to the public, but we got invited to install an All Sky camera on top of a Ham radio shed to photograph passing meteors.
This mountain top is the fourth highest peak in the Santa Cruz mountains.
It is currently being cleaned of hazardous waste from the former Almaden Air Force station.
It was to be open as a park this Fall, but has been pushed out to next Spring.
