shots from a recent trip to the channel country in far western and the gulf of carpentaria in far northern queensland. incredibly vast, dramatic and constantly changing landscape especially when viewed from the air. places featured include marion downs and the georgina river system, the boulia area, the back road from dajarra to cloncurry, wernadinga station in the gulf (the size of luxembourg) and prehistoric landscapes around the leichhardt river, beautiful warrigal waterhole (and the australia-shaped puddle) near mt isa, the albert river system near gregory downs and the road to century mine and lawn hill and few 'hands of god' along the way. all in all 2000km in 8 days (by car). as you can see i was quite taken by the termite mounds which make some areas look eerily like big red graveyards.
