Australia's toughest off-road race from Alice Springs to the Finke Aboriginal community is held every year in June. It follows the Finke River (reputed to be one of the oldest in the world) and old Ghan railway line for 220km bone-crushing kilometres. Then back again the next day. Only a third of the competitors finish. I had the opportunity to shoot it from a helicopter owned by one of the entrants, in the green Toyota Tundra, which came 6th overall after starting 33rd. I'm no revhead but it was a great experience.
