I cast to some rolling tarpon on the flats off Mule Key, just west of Key West. We hit the water by 6:30 each morning to cast to the rolling fish. I jumped one of about 90 pounds early one morning. He came straight up out of the water like a Saturn rocket, hung motionless in the air at the apex of the jump, and fell straight back in.

It was one of my first casts of the morning and I'm not sure I was even awake when the fish hit. But I was right after!
