I took the day off from work today to do an awesome bike ride from Front Royal, VA. Here we are paying the park fee to ride up Skyline Drive. We rode to Panorama and then off the Drive to Luray. That was an awesome descent. The curves were designed for cars and speeds of 35-45 mph. I was a bit of a wimp and I don't think I broke 35. Then we headed up Massanuttan Mountain, three miles a litle steeper than Skyline Drive and finally much steeper for the last 9/10 of a mile. All and all not a bad climb. Finally we rolled over little hills in the valley with a view of the Shenandoah mountains to our left. 83 miles, 8,000 feet of climbing. Five and a half hours of rolling time and 6:25 total time.
