At last the construction around the Washington Monument is completed and people and bikes can walk and ride around the base of the monument. The new security they have put in place is more attractive than the double row of jersey barriers they had since the Oklahoma City bombing.

You're right, that does look so much better! I too love how you brough the Capital dome right into the background...as if the two buildings were right next to each other.

I like your use of a long lens here bringing the Capitol into the image also.
Delighted to learn you can get close to the monument again.
