Eastern Market

Boring I suppose for anyone who has never been here, but after years of neglect this historic farmers market is beginning to get a renovation. Normally there's a canopy (rotted and leaky), that's not the right term for it, but it escapes me at the moment, along the whole length of the building to cover the farmers and other vendors from the elements. It has been completely removed. The building looks naked. No farmer's stalls, no vendors, nobody.

It's an interesting building! The brick reminds me of older English school buildings. It seems to me that a lot of the old English grammar schools were built from brick like this - and similar in design, too. Maybe some of my English pbase peeps will correct me if I'm wrong?!

No, I think it is a building of merit.
I like the colour and intricacy of the brickwork, the recessed bays and the shape of the windows and doors.
If this awning thing had columns at the front you could call it a colonnade?
I like it and your photo of it.
